Roger Hitchings, BSc(Hons), PGCE(FE)

He was employed by the Organic Research Centre until May 2013 and now works part-time trading as RMH Consulting. He continues to specialise in advice and training in organic horticulture including fruit, composting, soil management and fertility, technical conversion planning and protected cropping. He has 25 years of direct experience in the organic sector including 7 years of commercial organic horticultural crop production. He has been responsible for the writing and delivery of organic courses at a range of levels.

He has an extensive knowledge of all aspects of horticultural production, organic standards and related research and development. HE was a member of ACOS and chair of its Technical Committee. He is a pool member of EGTOP contributing to reports on protected cropping and fertility. He is Secretary of the OGA and has been involved in a wide range of projects.
